The calf area is large enough so you can basically fit any type of pants in them. My son says they’re very comfortable. They are non slip in the rain, which gives me peace of mind when he’s at school

Jedi_EditorVerified✓I ordered these HISEA black rain boots and received them a few days before record-breaking rainstorms hit California and turned everything to mud, so it was great timing. The boots are made of polyvinyl chloride, or PVC. They’re fully waterproof, and oil-proof too, if that matters. They have excellent treads on the bottom that help to prevent slipping on wet pavement and sidewalks. The boots are super-glossy black with bright yellow soles. They’re definitely lighter than rubber boots.

Levi MasonVerified✓These boots appear to be made of strong material. They are shiny and nice to look at. The fitment wasn't good for me - there is too much room in the boot in front of the ankle area. This means the boots tend to want to fall off. I've tried using an insole which seems to help a little. Placing a pad at the heel pushes the foot forward into the boot more, which also helps with fitment. The size I ordered was 12 (normally I order 11.5 but they don't offer half-sizes for this product). In this case size 11 of this product might be a better fit for me.

My husband loves them and appreciates that he can just step outside and slip them on without worrying about ruining his work boots or sneakers. We’ve had a LOT of snow and rain in my area over the last few week and there’s water ponding everywhere. These boots make us both feel much steadier while trying to do our outdoor chores. BobVerified✓The best part was that they fit. I have had trouble fitting into boots forever, but these were cut wider, and my foot slipped into and out of the boot effortlessly. I wanted to get a boot that could be used in the yard for gardening as well as a boot for washing the truck or the boat and also for in the boat when fishing in wet weather. These boots really did the trick.

Anonymous CustomerVerified✓Despite not getting rain much or having to deal with much water in general, I figured it would be good to have a set of waterproof boots for when I do have to go into torrential downpours. These boots have proven to be decently comfortable and effective in repelling water, though since I'm usually wearing jeans the widened calf of the boot can make it easier for rain to get in when I'm just wearing a jacket and not using an umbrella. However, switching to heavier water-resistant/proof pants does help to fill the gap around my calf and assist in preventing water from entering easily. The rounded toe certainly contributes to comfort, and the kick plate on the back of the heel really makes it easy to take the boots off using just my feet. I was also surprised with how light they are. Granted, I have not yet worn these boots for extended periods yet, as I usually just need them for limited outings in the rain. One thing to keep in mind is that the material of the boots does not slide smoothly against each other and can 'stick,' so if you have to take narrow strides for whatever reason and the boots rub against each other, you can trip if you aren't careful. ...[See More]

Lava LampsVerified✓My initial concern was whether the boot size would be accurate. I normally wear a 9.5 (US men's) shoe. I used the method and table shown in the listing and ordered a size 10... I can confidently report these boots are an excellent fit (wearing medium thick socks) and therefore the sizes seem to be correct.

Nora & John BorgesVerified✓Once in a while you have to be the neighborhood hero (if you want to) and step into deep water and rake leaves and soot from the apartment and city water drains in your surrounding area after a flood. And also be kind to your wife and move her car to higher ground when the water is high. I did need new rain boots, and these are nice.

kjVerified✓I live in Oregon but, ironically, that's not the reason I ordered these HISEA rain boots. My wife and I like to go crabbing and clamming in the bays on the coast. These boots are just what I needed when we are pulling crab pots on our boat as well as when we beach the boat to dig clams. The calf height sides allow me to wade through the shallows and up onto the flats without getting my pants wet. There is also plenty of room for thick socks (the boots are not insulated) and space to tuck in your pant legs. The lug soles help when you are walking on slippery mud flats or over algae covered rocks. I re moved the foam foot pad (nice) to take a photo for the review, but it occurs to me that if you got into deep mud or sand and got some in your boot, you could easily rinse the entire boot out. I chose the yellow soles so I could more easily see mud and rocks clinging to the bottom of the boots when I clean/store them at the end of the day. My shoe size is 10.5 and the size 11 HISEA boots fit perfect. I've been wearing them for several hours straight before writing this review and they are still comfortable. The kick plate at the back of the heel is nice since the heel itself does not extend toward the back. Bonus, these also come with a Lifetime Warranty (I've already registered mine)! If I were to have one complaint, it would have to be the glossy finish. I much prefer the matte finish offered in other HISEA products (as well as other brands), but, it's really not a deal breaker. I'm sure they will develop a natural “matte finish” with time and use. The price point is a touch high but really not out of the ballpark for this sort of product.
